2009 ISEA Scholarship winners
The ISEA has awarded two $2,500 scholarships to children of ISEA members who are studying to become teachers. This year's winners are:
Sarah Beaver, a senior majoring in agricultural education at Iowa State University in Ames. She is the daughter of Cheryl Beaver who is a member of the Clarinda Education Association.
Kristine Welper, a junior majoring in early childhood education at the Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota. She is the daughter of Nancy Welper who is a member of the North Winneshiek Education Association.
The winners will be honored in local ceremonies this spring. In order to be eligible for the ISEA scholarship, applicants must be at least a junior, be enrolled in a teacher preparation program, and be a member of an NEA affiliate student program.
The scholarships are funded by voluntary contributions made by ISEA members. The deadline for applications for next year's scholarships is Jan. 15, 2010. Click here for details and an application form.
