Delegate Assembly
The ISEA Delegate Assembly will be held April 8-9, 2010 in Ames, Iowa.

Donate to help our sister union in Haiti
NEA is participating in the Education International Solidarity Fund, which channels support directly to our sister union, Coeration National des EnseignantsHti (CNEH) in Haiti and the members and their families who have lost everything at home and at their schools. The donations will also go to rebuilding the union. If you would like to make a contribution please send a check payable to NEA, ATTN: Haiti Relief Effort. Checks should be mailed to Haiti Earthquake Recovery, National Education Association, 1201 16th Street NW, Suite 614, Washington DC 20036. 

2011 Teacher of the Year

Nominations are now being accepted by the Iowa Department of Education for the 2011 Teacher of the Year. Anyone, including school administrators, colleagues, students, parents, college faculty, and associations may nominate teachers for the award. For more information and a nomination form go to http://tinyurl.com/y9rpag6. The deadline is 4:30 pm on April 15, 2010.

2010 Summer Teacher Institutes
The Library of Congress is holding four-day institutes designed to introduce educators to the millions of digitized primary sources available on the Library's Web site and give educators the tools to use these resources in their classrooms. The Summer Teacher Institutes are open to all grade 4-12 educators, including teachers, librarians, media specialists and instructional technology specialists in public schools. The application will be posted on the Library's Web site on January 19. For more information read this letter from Representative Tom Latham.

Aaron Eilerts Day of Service and Giving
Aaron Eilerts tragically lost his life in the devastating tornado at Camp Little Sioux on June 11, 2008. To honor his life and work, February 24 is the second annual Aaron Eilerts Day of Service and Giving (his birthday). Read the flyer and learn how his school is participating in service learning on this special day and get your own school involved.
